Curbside recycling service ("Curby") in Cherokee Park occurs on the second Wednesday of each month. Recyclables go in the green cart (non-recylable garbage goes in the brown carts).  Place your cart with the arrow on the lid pointing toward the street. Acceptable items are: plastic bottles labeled 1 - 7, dairy containers (margarine, yogurt, sour cream, etc. labeled 1 – 7), mixed paper (newspaper, magazines, junk mail, etc.), cardboard, aluminum cans, tin cans, and empty aerosol cans.

Please don't place the following items in your green Curby carts: glass, trash, Styrofoam, plastic bags/wraps, black plastic, clamshells (fast food take out), film, toys, or wraps, large plastic items, pesticides, herbicides, motor oil containers, solvents, paint, or microwave containers.

A recycling drop-off site is open seven days a week by the Strike and Spare Bowling Alley in Charlotte Center, 3710 Annex Avenue (at the corner of Charlotte Pike and Hillwood Boulevard).  The Charlotte Pike drop-off site accepts glass bottles and jars in addition to other recyclables.

Trash collection occurs every Wednesday in Cherokee Park.  Place the cart at least 3 feet from any stationary object such as a mailbox or another cart.  Items that are placed outside the trash cart or in other containers will not be picked up. Please remove your cart from the street by 7:00 p.m. on pick-up day.
